There’s something timeless about smooth, straight hair. Whether you’re after a polished everyday look or just want a style that feels effortlessly put together, sleek hair never goes out of fashion. At KGHD, we know the difference between “flat” and “fabulous” comes down to technique and care — so here’s our guide to getting it right at home.
Daily Styling at Home
1. Prep is everything
The foundation of sleek hair starts before you even pick up your tools. Always apply a heat protector to shield your strands, then smooth on a lightweight serum or cream to fight frizz and add slip. This step sets you up for shine instead of static.
2. Blow-dry like a pro
Divide your hair into small, manageable sections for the best results. Use a round brush and direct your dryer down the hair shaft — this flattens the cuticle, creating that glossy, salon-worthy finish. Don’t forget the cool shot at the end to lock in your style.
3. Straighteners for the win
For that ultra-sleek finish, run a flat iron over each section once the hair is completely dry. The right temperature makes all the difference:
Fine/delicate hair: 150–170°C
Medium hair: 170–190°C
Thick/coarse hair: 190–230°C
This keeps damage to a minimum while still giving you smooth, lasting results.
4. The finishing touch
A little shine spray is all you need to polish off the look. Keep products light — too much and you’ll weigh your hair down. Sleek hair should feel silky, not heavy.
