Looking Back and Moving Forward — Our Year at KGHD from Kerry

What a year it’s been.

As we head into a brand new chapter, I wanted to take a moment to look back at everything we’ve built, achieved and grown together over the past year — as a team, a salon, and a community.

This year, we officially launched KGHD Academy — something that has been a long-term dream of mine. We’ve been working closely with local colleges, offering work experience opportunities and helping inspire the next generation coming into our trade.

Supporting young stylists and sharing our passion for hairdressing is incredibly important to us, and this is just the beginning of what the Academy will become.

We also grew our team to five stylists plus our nail technician, and every single one of them has worked so hard building wonderfully busy columns and genuine client relationships.

Our favourite part of the job will always be the same — creating beautiful hair and nails and making people feel amazing.

This year, we continued building on our brand and reputation — and that has taken a huge amount of dedication behind the scenes. From weddings and salon events, to Christmas fayres, charity hampers, and of course… our Christmas do — it’s been busy, joyful and hugely rewarding.

What’s to come this year?

There is lots happening — and we’re only just getting started.

You’ll be seeing much more from KGHD Academy as we continue building our college collaborations, offering work experience, workshops, shadow days and much, much more.

We’re also hoping to finalise our team — the last few pieces of the KGHD puzzle.

We have some exciting ideas in the pipeline around MUAs — so if you are, or know, a fabulous make-up artist, we’d love to chat. We’re also looking at introducing monthly hosts to bring even more creativity into the salon.

Will KGHD be going on the road…? 👀 Let’s just say — watch this space.

Behind the scenes, we’re also working on some exciting developments for our booking system, constantly evolving to stay aligned with our clients’ needs and requests.

We truly can’t wait for 2026.
